For the past three years, many of you must have heard or seen the #BringBackNgonnso Campaign. If yes, then you should know Sylvie Njobati is a household name associated with it. On August 19th 2023, Sylvie was honored with an Award recognising the work she has done for the restitution of Africa’s heritage looted in colonial times.
This was greeted with respect and love by the audience and the general public. Awarded by Cameroon’s top media house and award ceremony, Sylvie was specially applauded for her use of social media, blended with top-tier diplomatic negotiations to secure restitution of the statue of Ngonnso from one of the world’s most powerful cultural institution – Prussian cultural heritage Foundation. Today, Sylvie continues to support several local communities on the continent to seek reparatory justice for historical crimes against the continent of Africa.
