“The All-Party Parliamentary Group on Afrikan Reparations is a group of cross-party members of parliament that brings together stakeholders to examine issues of reparations for people of African descent across the world and explores policy proposals on addressing the legacies of African enslavement and colonialism. This two day interactive conference will take place on Saturday 21st October 2023 and Sunday 22nd October 2023 at Friends House, 173-177 Euston Road, London, NW1 2BJ.
Over this weekend we will address historic and contemporary legacies of African Chattel Slavery and Colonialism interactive thematic panelled sessions will be held throughout the conference with the aim of exploring the advancements towards reparatory justice via various avenues including Racial Justice, Education, Law and Governance, Decolonising Aid, Environmental Justice, Cultural Rights, Economics, Health and Wellbeing and Science.
We are honoured to have co-chairing this conference Dr. Julius Garvey, an academic, activist and the son of The Right Excellent Marcus Garvey and the Rt. Hon. Diane Abbott, MP.
Other speakers will include international government representatives, national and international dignitaries, Independent UN experts, campaigners, academics, MP’s, legal experts and youth voices. ”
